In their latest research paper presented at the BauSim Conference 2026 in Zurich, KBP Ingenieure demonstrates how cold local heating networks and anergy networks can be evaluated during the planning phase. Using a methodology developed in-house by KBP Ingenieure and coupled thermal-hydraulic simulations in IDA Districts, temperatures, volume flows, and operating states of an anergy network are simulated over the course of a year.

The results provide a solid foundation for:

• Evaluating pump performance and pressure losses
• Optimizing investment costs
• Determining operating strategies for sustainable performance
