In their latest research paper presented at the BauSim Conference 2026 in Zurich, KBP Ingenieure demonstrates how cold local heating networks and anergy networks can be evaluated during the planning phase. Using a methodology developed in-house by KBP Ingenieure and coupled thermal-hydraulic simulations in IDA Districts, the team simulates temperatures, volume flows, and operating states of an anergy network over the course of a year.

The results provide a solid foundation for:

• Dimensioning and optimizing pipeline networks
• Evaluating pump performance and pressure losses
• Optimizing investment costs
• Determining operating strategies for sustainable operation
