On the site of the Research and Innovation Center (FIZ), the new Aerodynamic Experimental Center was constructed from 2006 to the end of 2007.

It represents another important building block in the expansion of research and development capabilities for the BMW Group brands.

The test center comprises two wind tunnels, one on a 1: 1 scale and one on a 1: 2 scale. In addition to office space for the employees, there are workshops and storage facilities in the entrance level.
